About

Summer Focus Enrichment is a multi-week residential academic and cultural immersion offered by Education Unlimited at UC Berkeley and UCLA. Designed for high school students in grades 9–12, the program allows participants to live on campus while balancing two distinct pillars: academic focus tracks and regional cultural discovery. Students choose from subjects such as Journalism, SAT Prep, Creative Writing, Leadership, or Public Speaking. The 2026 program is structured into 2-week sessions that can be combined for a 4- or 6-week stay, offering a scalable experience of university life in the San Francisco Bay Area or Los Angeles.

The 2026 schedule includes sessions at UC Berkeley (June 30 – July 13 and July 14 – July 27) and UCLA (July 28 – August 10). Residential tuition for a 2-week session starts at approximately $3,285 to $3,495, covering shared dorm housing, all meals, and supervised activities. International students are welcome but incur an additional service fee. Each day follows a "Focus" rhythm: morning and early afternoon are dedicated to classroom instruction and workshops, while late afternoons feature excursions to local landmarks.

Instruction is led by experts—including college professors and professional communicators—who emphasize hands-on projects, such as creating news content or designing a leadership marketing campaign. Residential life includes evening recreation like movie nights or campus tours, fostering a community of global peers.

Summer Focus Enrichment is rooted in Education Unlimited’s mission to provide single-subject learning that prepares students for the academic and social rigor of college. Participants should not expect the same academic rigor of higher-level programs; however students curious about specific fields leave with a Certificate of Completion, a portfolio of work, and heightened confidence in their ability to navigate a major university campus.

Did You Know?

Education Unlimited pioneered the model of running independent academic camps on major university campuses in the early 1990s — a structure that lets students experience dorm living and classroom spaces at schools like UC Berkeley and UCLA without being enrolled in a university-run program.
