Yale Summer Session’s Pre-College Students option invites academically motivated high-school juniors (entering their senior year) and seniors (or recent grads) age 16+ to join Yale College classes during the summer in New Haven, online or through commuter paths. Participants integrate into Yale’s campus community and engage with the same high standards as undergraduate students—selecting from a wide range of courses across humanities, STEM, social sciences and more. Residential housing is provided (and required unless commuting locally), enabling full access to Yale’s resources, libraries, clubs and living-learning environment. International students are welcome. Admission is competitive, reflecting the program’s selective nature rather than open enrollment. For high-schoolers seeking a genuine Ivy League academic experience combined with residential campus culture, this program offers one of the most direct previews of college-level work at an elite institution.
