About

WashU’s Pre-College Programs are built for high-school students who want early exposure to college-level academics in a structured, supportive environment. Students may participate in residential, commuter, or online formats and select from a wide range of summer offerings spanning medicine, engineering, business, design, writing, and the sciences. Through the High School Summer Scholars Program, students earn college credit by enrolling in undergraduate courses alongside current WashU students, while Summer Institutes focus on non-credit academic enrichment and intensive skill development. Residential participants live on campus and engage in organized programming that complements coursework, while commuter and online options expand access for local and remote students. For families evaluating summer options at research universities, WashU Pre-College offers a balanced introduction to college-level study, campus life, and academic expectations within a mid-sized private university setting.
