Wake Forest University’s Pre-College Programs are built for high-school students interested in college-level study within a small, highly residential university environment. Students may participate in residential, commuter, or online formats and choose from summer offerings that include credit-bearing undergraduate courses through Summer Session, as well as focused non-credit Summer Immersion Program institutes in areas such as medicine, business, leadership, and the sciences. Academic experiences reflect Wake Forest’s emphasis on discussion-based learning and close faculty interaction. Residential participants in the week-long institutes live on campus and engage in structured programming, while commuter and online options—including asynchronous year-round courses—broaden access. Participation requires submission of application materials and a program review rather than open enrollment. For families seeking an intimate academic setting, Wake Forest offers a measured and academically grounded introduction to university-level study and campus life.
