UT Austin’s Summer Discovery program offers high-school students the opportunity to experience college-level academics on the campus of one of the nation’s largest public research universities. Operated by Summer Discovery in partnership with UT Austin, the program allows students to live on campus and enroll in a selection of non-credit enrichment courses while exploring academic interests across STEM, business, humanities, and the arts. Participants may choose between full-day academies or individual subject courses led by UT faculty and professionals. Residential participants live in Jester Dormitory and take part in organized programming that introduces them to life on "The Forty Acres," while commuter options serve local students. Participation requires a selective application review—including transcripts and a recommendation—rather than open enrollment. For families seeking a structured, externally managed pre-college experience, UT Austin Summer Discovery provides an accessible entry point into university-style academics and residential life.
