This program is designed for high-school students eager to engage in a dense summer of college-level learning at a major research university. At USC, participants join the Trojan community on campus in Los Angeles (or online/commuter options) and choose from 25~ intensive four-week courses ranging across architecture, engineering, business, the arts, communication, pre-health, and more. Courses are taught by USC faculty and experienced professionals and are structured to be more interactive and challenging than standard high-school offerings. Residential students live in university residence halls, experiencing campus life in a vibrant urban environment; commuter and online formats broaden access.
Students should note that the residential four-week courses are for-credit; however USC’s online summer offerings offer only a certificate of completion. Admissions is mildly selective: USC notes only that applicants should be “pursuing a rigorous high school curriculum.” USC offers students a range of residential access and extracurricular experiences to supplement its coursework, and this program will appeal to anyone seeking to experience life at one of the country’s most popular universities.
