UConn Pre-College Summer (PCS) offers high school students a series of intensive, one-week academic institutes hosted on the University of Connecticut’s flagship Storrs campus. Organized as program-specific offerings rather than a single open summer session, students apply directly to individual tracks—such as Artificial Intelligence, Pre-Vet Marine Animal Health, or Digital Animation. While the majority of these institutes are non-credit exploration sessions, the program currently offers a two-credit undergraduate pathway in Medical Terminology. For the 2026 cycle, the program is strictly residential to provide an immersive college experience; commuter options are not available. Admission is very lightly selective, requiring a minimum 2.0 GPA and a holistic application review including personal essays and references. This model is ideal especially for students seeking to experience a new field without the pressure of grades or a formal transcript.
