UCLA’s High School Summer Programs give motivated students the opportunity to enroll directly in UCLA Summer Sessions courses and experience academics at one of the country’s most visible public research universities. Students may participate residentially (within specific programs like SCIP), as commuters, or online, and select from a broad catalog of undergraduate courses spanning STEM, life sciences, social sciences, humanities, and the arts. With over 100 approved offerings available, students join a diverse campus community while completing real college-level coursework for credit. Residential participants in curated tracks live on campus and take part in organized co-curricular programming, while commuter and online options extend access to local and international students. Enrollment for specialized tracks requires meeting specific GPA requirements (ranging from 3.0 to 3.8) and an application review, while individual courses are accessible via a simplified registration process. For families evaluating large-scale university summer options, UCLA provides a flexible and academically substantive pathway into college-level study at one of the most popular and well-known universities in the world.
