Seattle City Light offers paid 8-week summer internships for high school students at the municipal electric utility serving Seattle and surrounding communities. Internships run mid-June through August, with hours ranging from part-time to full-time depending on department. Interns work on administrative projects, assist with key utility initiatives, attend professional development workshops with other interns, meet with executive leaders, and take field visits to see utility operations firsthand. Eligibility requires being a continuing high school student (enrolled before and after the internship), a minimum 2.0 GPA, age 16 or older, and US citizenship or legal work authorization.
