Summer@RPI is designed for high-school students interested in exploring STEM-focused academics within a technology-driven research university environment. Hosted on Rensselaer’s Troy campus, the program offers a range of non-credit pre-college courses and academies emphasizing architecture, robotics, AI, and nuclear engineering. Instruction is project-based and hands-on, exemplified by the STEAMM Inventor’s Studio, where students engage with real-world problem-solving and industry tours rather than lecture-only coursework. Residential participants live on campus and take part in structured programming that complements their academic work, while commuter options support local students.
