Northwestern University’s Pre-College Summer Programs invite motivated high-school students to join a dynamic academic community in Evanston, online, or as commuters. Participants may enroll in credit-bearing undergraduate courses through the College Preparation Program—with residential options available for courses up to six weeks for rising juniors and seniors. Alternatively, students ages 13 and up may pursue online non-credit certificates for enrichment. Courses span STEM fields, humanities, business, and journalism, facilitated by Northwestern faculty and staff. On-campus housing lets students immerse themselves in Wildcat community life, while commuter and flexible online tracks broaden access. Admission is selective for the credit and IN FOCUS Seminars (requiring transcripts/GPA), but more streamlined for the online non-credit program. International applicants are eligible, and early application is advised as admissions are on a rolling basis. For families seeking structured academic exploration at a top research university, Northwestern Pre-College offers a clear pathway into college-level study and residential campus life.
