About

The Management & Technology Summer Institute (M&TSI) is a rigorous, for-credit, pre-college summer program run by the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, in partnership with Penn Engineering and Wharton. It runs for three weeks (July 6-26, 2025) and is designed for rising high school seniors interested in exploring the integration of technological innovation and management principles. The curriculum includes faculty-led courses, venture prototyping, and real business-technology exposure. Fees run about $9,000 for the on-campus version; need-based scholarships are available.

M&TSI admits 75 rising seniors each summer; although the program does not publish admissions data, the acceptance rate is quite possibly as low as the single digits. International students are eligible and encouraged to apply by the priority deadline, particularly if seeking scholarship support. Applicants are expected to show a serious degree of interest in business or technology—or better yet, both. After all, M&TSI is the little brother of UPenn’s famed M&T program for undergraduates, one of the most sought-after business-technology dual degrees in existence. In fact, M&T undergrads are known to help out with M&TSI admissions reading.

Over the three-week span, participants take Penn Engineering and Wharton-taught courses led by faculty and successful industry entrepreneurs. The experience includes guest lectures, a team prototyping project (design + go-to-market plan), and evaluations by both Penn faculty and external entrepreneurs/investors. Students live on campus and receive one college credit for successful completion. The schedule is fast-paced and non-stop, with intensive daily coursework and project work.

M&TSI offers strong admissions value for students interested in tech, business, and entrepreneurship. It is part of the elite Jerome Fisher M&T brand, offers Penn/Wharton faculty instruction and venture design experience, and is easily one of the best programs out there for students interested in formally exploring business and tech entrepreneurship.
