Johns Hopkins University’s Summer at Hopkins Pre-College Students program offers intellectually curious high-school students an opportunity to explore university-level academics in a residential, commuter or online format. Participants choose from dozens of specialized, pre-college programs and credit-bearing undergraduate courses—spanning STEM, humanities, social sciences, film and media—while studying alongside peers from around the world. On-campus housing gives access to JHU’s campus life in Baltimore, while online and commuter formats offer abundant flexibility. The program requires applicants to meet a minimum academic standard (a 3.0 GPA) rather than being open-enrollment, and applicants should be prepared for rigorous work and a fast-paced summer. International students are welcome, and early application is recommended as admissions are handled on a rolling basis given program demand. For high-school students seeking a rigorous preview of college-level study at a global research institution, this program delivers a focused and immersive experience.
