The Interlochen Arts Summer Camp is a premier residential arts immersion for students in grades 3–12. Located on a 1,200-acre campus between two lakes in northern Michigan, the 2026 program offers sessions ranging from one-week intensives (June 20–26) to six-week immersions (June 28 – August 9). Students choose from seven core disciplines: Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Dance, Film & New Media, and Interdisciplinary Arts. Daily life combines technical studio instruction with elective activities such as archery, sailing on Green Lake, and "Polar Bear Plunges."

Admission is based on grade level (current 2025–2026 grade). The priority deadline for audition-based programs is January 15, 2026. 2026 tuition ranges from $2,050 for one-week intensives to $10,500 for the full six-week experience. Most programs two weeks or longer qualify for need-based financial aid via the Clarity platform, and 85% of applicants typically receive support. Uniformed boarding participants live in cabins, share meals in campus cafeterias, and participate in a century-old tradition of "uniforms" (navy blue shirts and pants) to foster a community focused on art rather than status.

Instruction is led by world-class faculty and visiting guest artists. Students in performance tracks participate in high-level ensembles and recitals, while visual and cinematic arts students focus on portfolio development and exhibitions. High school students in the Interdisciplinary Arts track collaborate across mediums—fusing dance, music, and digital media into original performance pieces.

Interlochen’s legacy, dating back to 1928, is built on nurturing creative potential. The 2026 season highlights include a star-studded performance with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and guest appearances by world-renowned alumni. Participants finish their session with enhanced technical skills and a global network of fellow artists. While the camp does not confer academic credit, it serves as a transformative pre-professional milestone for young creatives.
