About

Georgia Tech’s College of Design Pre-College Programs are designed for high-school students interested in architecture, industrial design, building construction, and music technology within a top public research university. Participants engage in two-week, studio-based workshops that emphasize creative problem-solving, design thinking, and project development. As a residential-only program for the 2026 cycle, participants live on campus in Atlanta, using Georgia Tech’s studios and maker spaces while receiving mentorship from world-class faculty and current students. Studio work culminates in a design project suitable for a college admissions portfolio. Admission requires a holistic application review—including transcripts and a short essay—reflecting a selective process for rising juniors and seniors. For students considering design-focused academic pathways, Georgia Tech Pre-College offers an early, hands-on introduction to university-level studio learning within one of the country’s most respected research universities.
