About

George Washington University’s Pre-College Programs offer high school students an immersive introduction to university life in the heart of the nation’s capital. For the 2026 cycle, students may choose from two primary pathways: Summer Immersion, a two-week non-credit program focused on experiential learning in fields like Law and Neuroscience, or College Intensive, which allows rising juniors and seniors to earn three to six GW undergraduate credits through three-week or six-week sessions. Programs are primarily residential, with students living in university housing and utilizing Washington, DC, as an extension of the classroom. While most tracks are tuition-based, selective programs such as Caminos al Futuro and INSPIRE offer full-scholarship opportunities. Admission is selective and holistic, requiring a 3.0 GPA and a personal statement. This model is ideal for students seeking a rigorous, urban research university experience with a clear distinction between academic acceleration and intellectual exploration.
