The Finance Institute: Wall Street in the Classroom at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business is a one-week summer business immersion for high school students. For 2026, the program runs from July 6 to July 10 at the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily). The curriculum is designed to introduce foundational concepts such as financial markets, investment fundamentals, and risk vs. return through a mix of interactive lectures and simulated professional scenarios.
Admission is open to rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. For 2026, the total program cost is $1,300. Priority registration ends April 1, 2026, which is also the deadline for need-based discount requests. International students may participate but must do so remotely, as the university does not provide housing for this specific specialty program.
Instruction is led by Gabelli faculty and recent alumni who currently work at top finance firms. Daily sessions focus on technical skills—like using financial data to value assets—and soft skills like collaborative problem-solving. Students work in teams on a "Wall Street Challenge" that culminates in a final presentation of their investment strategies.
The Finance Institute is rooted in Gabelli’s "values-based" business philosophy, encouraging students to consider ethical dimensions alongside technical competence. Participants finish the week with a certificate of completion, sharpened analytical instincts, and a clearer perspective on whether a career in global finance aligns with their goals. The program does not confer academic credit.
Fordham’s Gabelli School leverages its proximity to New York City’s financial district to bring real-world finance context into student learning, reflecting the school’s historic ties to the global financial community.
