About

Duke University’s Pre-College Programs invite motivated middle- and high-school students (grades 6–11) to explore rigorous summer coursework and campus life in Durham, North Carolina, online, or as commuters. With residential options available for the non-credit programs, participants join a diverse, global student body for hands-on experiences in STEM, humanities, social sciences and more. Qualified 10th and 11th-grade students may also enroll in credit-bearing undergraduate courses offered as online or local commuter options (not residential). The programs require applicants to meet a minimum academic standard and are application-based to ensure students are ready for an elevated academic environment. For families seeking structured academic exploration at a top research university, Duke Pre-College offers a clear pathway into college-level study and residential campus life.
