Residential learners enjoy full access to Dartmouth’s student community and the scenic New Hampshire Upper Valley, while online and commuter options broaden access globally. A unique highlight is that certain Leadership Institute courses include a two-day outdoor leadership retreat at an Appalachian Mountain Club lodge or Moosilauke Ravine Lodge in the White Mountains. However, families should note that unlike most of its peer universities, Dartmouth Summer Session courses are not offered for-credit and participating students instead receive a certificate of completion.
