About

The YoungArts competition is an annual program identifying exceptional artists ages 15-18 or in grades 10-12. It spans ten disciplines, including Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Classical Music, Film, Dance, Design, Jazz, Photography, Theater, Voice, and Writing. The 2026 application opens July 22, 2025, and closes October 8, 2025.

Beyond monetary awards and direct grants, all winners receive a lifetime of artistic support, professional development, and access to YoungArts Post—a private online portal for connecting with peers and mentors, and discovering exclusive residency, grant, and exhibition opportunities. Eligibility requires applicants to be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, or legally entitled to receive taxable income in the U.S. There is a $35 application fee per discipline, with fee waivers available.
