The VEX Robotics Competition is the world's largest robotics competition, challenging high school students (grades 9-12) to design, build, and program a robot to compete in a game-based engineering challenge that changes annually. Students work in teams to manage their project from initial design through final tournament play. The competition is structured as a series of events leading from local tournaments to regional, state, national, and the VEX Robotics World Championship. Teams compete in matches on a 12'x12' field, participating in both driver-controlled and autonomous programming sections. The program emphasizes hands-on learning in STEM, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. Success requires mastery of robot design, build quality, programming, and strategy.
