The Science Without Borders Challenge is an international, free-to-enter art competition focused on ocean conservation, open globally to students aged 11–19. College students are not eligible. Submissions must be original, two-dimensional artwork (painting, drawing, etc.). Digitally created art and photographs are strictly prohibited. Participants must have a teacher sponsor, and those aged 11–12 must also submit a Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) form. Students may submit only one piece of art. Semi-finalists are required to mail in their original artwork to be eligible for the scholarships, and the original work will not be returned. The contest offers scholarships up to $500 for first place, plus a $50 People's Choice award in each age group. Entries are judged using a grading rubric.
