Registration costs $15 to $20 per student, depending on timing, and is non-refundable; detailed rubrics are shared only with paid registrants. Teams submit a deck of five to eight slides for qualifying, a video of up to five minutes for the regional round, and then present a new case live to judges, with an 8 to 15 slide deck, in the global finals. First-round entries receive no scores or written comments.
The organizer reports more than 1,300 teams in 2025, so the global finals are a small fraction of the field, and finals placement is the credential that counts. Cash prizes total $3,000 across the top three teams; the remaining prize value is credit toward Crimson Education’s own services, covering at most half of a purchase, plus a virtual work-experience program. The site lists The Harvard Crimson, the student newspaper, as a partner and names no role for Harvard University.
HCGCC is the right competition for a student who wants practice structuring a business case and presenting it live against a global field, and who is comfortable paying a per-student fee for access.
