About

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) challenges high school students (grades 9-12) to design, build, and program industrial-sized robots to compete in a new, action-packed, themed field game each year. This international team competition emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and engineering skills. Teams compete regionally, aiming to qualify for the National/International FIRST Championship. The registration fee for one team is $6,300, plus costs for additional regional events. Judging is criteria-based, utilizing interviews and observation, with specific awards like the FIRST Impact Award judged solely on submissions. Students gain hands-on experience in complex engineering and teamwork.
