The DECA Virtual Business Challenge (VBC) is a free, international business simulation competition for high school DECA members. It operates as a competitive business simulation game where students manage a business within a chosen industry (like fashion, hotel, restaurant, or sports). Teams of one to three members make critical decisions on areas such as marketing, accounting, and business management. The objective is to achieve the highest possible cumulative profit or key performance indicators based on the simulation scenario. The competition typically runs in two rounds throughout the school year, allowing top finishers to qualify for DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC). This is a practical, hands-on way to apply textbook business concepts in a realistic, risk-free environment. Over $20,000 in scholarship money is available to winners.
