About

DECA Competitive Events provide high school students with practical experience in business fields like marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Students choose from various events, including written business proposals, prepared or impromptu public speaking, and taking a cluster exam, with performance judged by industry professionals. The path to the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) begins with local and state-level competitions. Participation in DECA requires membership and is highly structured, aimed at preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. It is a commitment that involves both testing knowledge and demonstrating real-world business skills.
