The Conrad Challenge is an international, multi-stage competition for teams of 2 to 5 students (ages 13-18) who develop innovative solutions to global issues within chosen categories. The competition is structured around three phases: the Activation Stage, the Innovation Stage, and the Conrad Challenge Innovation Summit.
Teams begin by brainstorming an original idea and submitting a Lean Canvas. If successful, they advance to the Innovation Stage, where they refine their concept into a detailed business plan and prototype plan. Finalists are invited to the Innovation Summit in Houston to pitch their innovation live to judges. The goal is for student entrepreneurs to create a commercializable innovation, and prizes focus on supporting the winning team's future steps, including college scholarships and other career-supportive awards.
