About

The Blue Ocean Student Entrepreneur Competition challenges high school students (ages 14-18) to create a business idea or pitch based on the "Blue Ocean Strategy" methodology. This strategy focuses on creating new market spaces (blue oceans) rather than competing in existing ones (red oceans). The competition emphasizes value innovation, encouraging participants to simultaneously pursue differentiation and low cost to redefine industry boundaries. Teams can have up to five members, and the entry is free. Judging criteria include Blue Ocean Creativity, Impact Potential, Commercial Viability & Scalability, and the Quality of Presentation. Prizes range from $500 to $1,000, plus a People's Choice Award. This is an international competition designed to foster entrepreneurial thinking and innovation.
