About

The BioGENEius Challenge is a research competition for high school students conducting original, hands-on biotechnology research. It is structured into three main tracks: The Global Healthcare Challenge, The Global Sustainability Challenge, and The Global Environment Challenge. Projects must focus on one of these areas, covering subjects like novel therapeutics, diagnostics, agricultural biotechnology, or environmental data analytics. Students must be enrolled in biology or science-related courses. To apply, contestants must submit a completed online application, parent authorization forms, a project title, an abstract (250 words or less), a brief project description (50 words or less, written in layman's language), and a PDF of their entire research poster. Regional winners receive cash prizes and plaques and may advance to the International Challenge held during the annual BIO International Conference.
