About

The American Regions Mathematics League (ARML) competition is held in June, typically on the first Saturday after Memorial Day, and features four formal events: a Team Round (10 problems, 20 minutes, 50 points), a Power Round (worth 50 points), five Individual Rounds (two questions per round, 10 minutes per pair of problems, 5 points per question), and a Relay Round. Problems cover a wide range of mathematical topics including algebra, geometry, number theory, combinatorics, probability, and inequalities. Note that calculators are not allowed on any part of the contest. The competition is held in-person at several locations, with ARML 2024 held at Penn State University and The University of Iowa. Teams typically consist of 15 members drawn from a well-defined region.
