About

The AMC 10 is the introductory test in a series of American Mathematics Competitions (AMC), specifically targeting students in grade 10 and below. It is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice examination focusing on high school mathematics concepts, excluding calculus. This highly selective competition serves as the primary qualification test for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). The top 2.5% of scorers on the AMC 10 are invited to advance to the AIME. Given its high number of participants (over 53,909 entries) and low advancement rate, the AMC 10 is considered a rigorous benchmark for mathematical talent globally. Students cannot take both the AMC 10 and AMC 12 on the same day.

Prizes Offered

Top scorers receive certificates from D. E. Shaw Group and Two Sigma

The Maryam Mirzakhani AMC 10 Awards (certificates) are provided to the five top-scoring AMC 10A females from each MAA Section

Students who participate at Utica University can win a scholarship equivalent to two 3-credit courses for First Place, or one 3-credit course for Second or Third Place
